MB/Ph.D. student

Shoko is a 4th-year medical student at Cambridge University completing the MB/Ph.D. program (Rosetrees Trust and School of Clinical Medicine funded) supervised by Dr. Sakari Vanharanta and Dr. Shamith Samarajiwa.

 

Previously, she carried out her SSC project in 2018 at the Samarajiwa lab using bioinformatics and computational genomic approaches to detect specific gene signatures in transcriptomic data from normal and pathological situations.

Her doctoral research will focus on the early detection of kidney cancer using single-cell technologies and multi-omic integrative computational approaches.
