Maria completed her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology, which included a year in industry working as an Associate Clinical Data Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline, at Imperial College London. Currently, she is undertaking an MPhil in Genomic Medicine at the University of Cambridge, where she is doing her research project in Single Cell and Systems Genomics at the Samarajiwa lab.
